About the project

RSAI used unmanned aerial vehicle observations to study pedestrian movements and vehicle interactions at unsignalised intersections on Tubman Boulevard.

The research combined aerial and ground-level evidence to understand speed, visibility, crossing behaviour and infrastructure conditions affecting vulnerable road users.

Scope of work

  • Capture aerial traffic movements and synchronise observations with field records.
  • Count vehicles, turning movements and pedestrian crossings.
  • Study conflicts, speeds, gap acceptance and road-user perceptions.
  • Develop and communicate intersection safety recommendations.
