About the project
RSAI applied iRAP Star Rating methodology to the SKD Boulevard–ELWA corridor to examine how infrastructure protects vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians.
The research connected the ratings with practical proposals for crossings, separation, lighting and speed management.
Scope of work
- Assess infrastructure characteristics using the Star Rating methodology.
- Examine risk for four road-user groups.
- Identify gaps in pedestrian and cycling protection.
- Develop a countermeasure package and share findings through ESOL.
RSAI’s contribution
Applied research organization.
Project partners
RSAI / Engineering Society of Liberia.
Documented outputs and progress
- Vehicle occupants and motorcyclists received a reported two-star rating.
- Cyclists and pedestrians received a reported one-star rating.
- Proposals included signalised crossings, separated lanes, lighting and traffic calming.
Ratings describe the 2024 study assessment. No claim is made about current corridor ratings or completed improvements.
