data collection programs

  • The "Assessing Pedestrian Risk at Unsignalized Intersections using UAVs on the Tubman Boulevard" project is an initiative undertaken by the Road Safety Action International Data Collection Department to enhance pedestrian safety and mitigate risks at unsignalized intersections along Tubman Boulevard. Unsignalized intersections pose significant safety challenges, especially for pedestrians, as they lack traffic control devices and traffic signals, leading to potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians. In this project, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)will be utilized to collect real-time data, assess the risk levels, and identify potential hazards faced by pedestrians at six selected intersections including Boulevard Intersection, 540 Intersection, Catholic Intersection, Vamoma House Intersection, 12th Intersection and Capitol Bye-Pass Intersection.
